Hallsburn Farm, South Lanarkshire
Installation Type: Three Turbine Wind Farm
Installation Size: 11.4 MW
CleanEarth are proposing a wind farm development consisting of three wind turbines with a tip height of up to 149.9m, on land at Hallsburn Farm, South Lanarkshire.
The Hallsburn wind farm is estimated to have an annual generation of 36.9 GWh, sufficient to power the equivalent of 9,416 homes in South Lanarkshire. The carbon savings of the project are expected to achieve in excess of 7,838 tonnes of carbon annually with a predicted lifetime saving of almost 274,354 tonnes – making a significant contribution to Scotland’s target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2045.
The proposed site falls within the Sandford and Upper Avondale Community Council, to whom the project will direct a fund for the local community.
An online public consultation was held on Thursday 26th of May 2022.
