Rush Wall Lane, Newport – Turbine Height Increase
Installation Type: Tip height increase for the permitted 130m turbine to 150m
Installation Size: 4 MW
CleanEarth are seeking planning permission to increase the tip height of the consented 130m Rush Wall Lane turbine (planning application reference 18/0408) by 20m to 150m.
The increase in tip height of this wind turbine will enable a greater contribution to UK renewable energy and climate change targets, supplying enough energy for over 2,292* Welsh homes and saving over 65,000 tonnes of carbon over the life of the project. Furthermore, the new turbine tip height has been designed and selected to ensure minimal additional visual and landscape impact, and no significant additional ecological, heritage or noise impact.
CleanEarth always seek to engage with the local community prior to any planning submission, and we held a public consultation on 17th October. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the event, and were pleased to receive such an excellent level of support from the local community.
Following feedback from the consultation the project has now been submitted to planning.
