Tacher C, Highlands of Scotland

Installation Size: 4.1 MW

CleanEarth are proposing a single wind turbine with a tip height of 130m, on land at Tacher, in the Highlands. The proposal is referred to as ‘Tacher C’ and will be considered as an extension to the consented Tacher A (21/02004/S42) and B (21/02006/S42) turbine cluster.

The proposal has an estimated annual yield of 11.4 GWh; the equivalent of powering 2,400 homes in the Highlands. The project will save in excess of 2,000 tonnes of carbon annually with a predicted lifetime saving of almost 84,000 tonnes – making a significant contribution to Scotland’s target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2045.

The proposed site falls within the Latheron, Lybster and Clyth Community Council. The project will provide a community benefit fund for the local community.

An online public consultation will be held on Thursday 5th May 2022. The Environmental Statement and all associated reports will be accessible here on the CleanEarth website ahead of that date, and comments can be submitted via the online questionnaire for 14 days following the event.
