The Proposed Project:
CleanEarth are proposing a single wind turbine and 16MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) extension together with associated infrastructure at the consented Hallsburn Wind Farm (P/22/1139).
The proposed turbine would have a maximum tip height of 150m and a generating capacity up to 5MW, in line with the consented development.
The Site:
The development site is located at the consented Hallsburn Wind Farm (P/22/1139). Consent was granted for 3 turbines up to 150m tip height, in January 2025. The site is approximately 8.3km southwest of Strathaven and 3.3km southeast of Drumclog.
The proposed extension will utilise the consented infrastructure as much as possible, including but not limited to the site entrance off the B743, approximately 400m of access track, underground cabling, and the construction compound.
Public Consultation Events
There will be two in-person public consultation events. Additionally, an online event will be held for any interested parties unable to attend an in-person event. The dates are as follows:
- In-Person Event 1: Tuesday 24th November 2026, between 2pm and 6pm.
- Virtual Event: Tuesday 01st December 2026, between 2pm and 6pm
- In-Person Event 2: Wednesday 09th December 2026, between 2pm and 6pm.
Both in-person events will take place at the Strathaven Hotel, Hamilton Road, Strathaven, Lanarkshire, ML10 6NY.
