Before installing solar, it’s crucial to ensure the site’s suitability for the panels; when you’re investing in solar, your roof needs to be able to stand the test of time. That’s why we work closely with providers like Practical Roofing.
As providers of roofing solutions and repairs for over 35 years, Practical Roofing have the expertise to ensure absolute site suitability with their roof repairs. By working closely with Practical Roofing, we’ve been able to move forward with the PV installation process immediately following the roof works completion – allowing for seamless installations with minimal disruptions to business operations. So far, we’ve completed several seamless projects through this collaboration.
Group Tyre Wholesale: Our team have been installing a 128kWp system for Group Tyre Wholesale, on the newly repaired roof at their Aylesbury head office. This system will generate over 113,000 kWh of annual low-carbon electricity, with cumulative energy cost savings of £300,000. These savings were made possible by seeing the solutions available for the roofing concerns, and ensuring their swift resolution.
Totes Isotoner: One of our recent installations, this project for Totes Isotoner is comprised of 288 solar panels, for a rooftop solar array with a capacity of 130kWp – generating over 120,000 kWh each year for their internationally operating business. This will come with lifetime CO2e reductions of roughly 343 tonnes.
Fresh Island Foods: Based in Sheffield, their distribution centre now features a 135kWp solar PV system. Their roof works made this project possible, allowing for savings of over £580,000 in lifetime energy costs and a matching 580 tonnes in cumulative CO2e reductions. Having already generated 200,000 kWh since their installation in 2022, they’ve become a third of the way self-sufficient off their own electricity.
B&B Press: Following the roof works at their Yorkshire offices, we were able to install a 470-panel system that has since been generating 150,000 kWh annually. For B&B Press, this means annual reductions of 28 tonnes of CO2e, accumulating to 670 tonnes over the systems lifespan. With their well-rounded approach to sustainability, their solar PV project is playing a significant part in taking their environmental efforts even further.
These projects demonstrate how much more accessible solar is than some may assume. Roof works don’t need to hold you back from environmental goals, they can be a seamless transition that enables your business to benefit from solar on a more efficient timescale with minimal disruption. The benefits can then become quickly apparent, with cost and carbon savings that are felt across the business and will last much longer.
