Under Construction

Construction of Clay Country Wind Farm Phase 1 is nearing completion. All five turbines have now been installed and are turning, and the project is moving into its final stages.

The wind farm sits within the China Clay area near St Austell. It comprises five turbines, each 135m to blade tip. Construction began in summer 2025.

Once fully operational, Phase 1 is expected to:

  • Generate nearly 59 GWh of renewable electricity a year
  • Power around 12,900 Cornish homes
  • Save around 12,500 tonnes of carbon each year, and around 435,000 tonnes over its lifetime
  • Provide a community fund shared between St Mewan and Treverbyn parish councils
