Crutherland Farm B.E.S.S.
Installation type: Battery Energy Storage System
Size: 22.8 MW
CleanEarth are proposing a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on Land at Crutherland Farm, East Kilbride.
Battery storage is a technology that enables energy to be stored for later use. The storage system charges from excess grid energy and discharges at times of peak demand. The proposed BESS will have a capacity of 22.8MW.
Battery storage plays an important role in system flexibility as renewables like wind and solar increase to meet net-zero targets.
