The Cornwall Manufacturers Group (CMG) represents the county’s manufacturers, giving them a voice at a regional and national level, and much more. Their work supports the manufacturing industry in Cornwall as it continuously innovates and improves.
Now, multiple members are taking strides towards sustainable businesses practices. With existing CMG clients like OMC Ltd and St Austell Printing Company, CleanEarth have now added Eliquo Hydrok, Flann Microwave, and Partech to their CMG portfolio.
Flann Microwave
Following 70 years of success, in 2024 Flann Microwave launched a refresh to their brand to better reflect their growth and goals for the future. In the wake of this, they took that growth another step forward with roof-mounted solar PV from CleanEarth. With 352 modules, this installation comes with an annual yield of 164,000 kWh, saving 38 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. In the system’s lifetime, 900 tonnes of carbon will be saved along with half a million pounds in energy costs.
Partech Electronics (now part of In-Situ)
Partech got their start in 1964 and went on to win the Queen’s Award for International Trade in 2019. In 2020, they joined forces with In-Situ, and in 2024 made the move towards sustainability with solar PV. CleanEarth’s in-house team designed the perfect system for an annual yield of 60,000 kWh; across its lifetime it will nearly £300k in energy costs and a cumulative 290 tonnes of CO2.
Eliquo Hydrok
Eliquo Hydrok identified energy use as a key area of environmental impact, and to suit their energy needs, CleanEarth designed and installed a 384-panel system with an annual yield of 160,000 kWh. Nearly 860 tonnes of carbon will be saved within that systems lifetime, going a long way towards meeting Eliquo Hydrok’s goals for energy efficiency and sustainability. And they’re not stopping there, opting for a second CleanEarth installation with a 120,000 kWh annual yield for more than 600 tonnes of additional lifetime carbon savings.
Carbon savings for the CMG
According to recent MAKE UK findings, 92% of manufacturers understand the push to net zero as a business priority, and 60% of manufacturing firm respondents have already made investments into meeting this goal.
This same report found that 6 in 10 of those manufacturers cite rising energy costs as a major driver in their work towards net zero, while suppliers are asking for evidence of net zero credentials and consumers demand sustainability. The demand within this industry is clear, and one that CleanEarth’s recent CMG clients understand keenly.
With these new projects, Cornwall’s manufacturing industry will save an annual 111 tonnes of carbon, adding to 30,000 tonnes of savings within CleanEarth’s portfolio. Across the combined lifetime of these systems, close to 2,560 cumulative tonnes of CO2 reductions will be made.
CleanEarth’s new CMG clients follow the growing demand for sustainability and renewable power within the manufacturing industry; adapting more and more every day, as manufacturers take charge of high energy consumption. Working with CleanEarth has saved manufacturers thousands in energy costs and provided increasing protection against volatile energy prices.
