Westbury manufacturer Audience Systems Ltd have taken their sustainability to the next level with solar PV.
Audience Systems Ltd have been in business since 1972, received royal recognition by 1996, and have since expanded production for the EU and in the US. They’re producing specialised seating for theatres, schools, and much more. With such extensive operations their energy use is expectedly high, and the environmental impact can be significant. But Audience Systems Ltd have been working on their sustainability for some time.
From the 20-year lifecycle of their products to their energy efficient heating, lighting, and compressors, it’s clear that they’re committed to mitigating their climate impact. With their sustainability mind-set, it was a logical next step for them to take it up a notch by transforming their energy mix with renewable electricity.
Our team supported Audience Systems Ltd closely from the initial design through the entirety of the project: including the structural survey, local authority planning permission, and grid connection process. Overall, we installed a solar PV system comprised of 400 panels with an 176kWp capacity. This system will generate 157,00kWh and 30 tonnes of CO2e reductions a year. This will add up to 716 tonnes of CO2e reductions in the systems lifetime and ultimately save Audience Systems Ltd £670,000 in energy costs.
This latest installation adds another future focused manufacturer to the ever-growing number of clients we’ve worked with. The manufacturing industry is at a clear turning point, with energy prices still high and incoming cost surges expected in 2025. By investing in renewable energy, manufacturers like Audience Systems are both making operations more environmentally conscious and strengthening their business against mounting costs.
