Plymouth has been making serious strides towards decarbonisation; 2025’s Net Zero Expo Plymouth being just one showcase of the county’s commitment. At CleanEarth Energy, we’ve been working closely with Plymouth businesses and the Plymouth Manufacturers’ Group (PMG) to transform their energy mix, taking part in the Net Zero Expo and local PMG meetings to bring solutions straight to the county.
We’ve completed a number of key projects in Plymouth for clients including: Hymec Aerospace, Plymouth Life Centre, and Deltor Communications. These projects range from multiple rooftop installations to solar installed in phases to suit business needs. Learn more about Plymouth’s charge to Net Zero with some of our Plymouth projects:

Hymec Aerospace
After a previous experience with solar, PMG member Hymec Aerospace wanted a new installer to take their carbon savings to the next level. With 434 solar PV panels, they now have a 407kWp system that’s providing their business with 75 tonnes of annual Scope 2 reductions.

Deltor Communications
Having had a different installer complete their first system a decade prior, Deltor Communications needed to update that system to comply with new grid connections regulations. Our O&M team stepped in to replace their inverters, resolve string faults, and bring in online monitoring and energy monitoring. From there, we extended their system to more than double it’s original capacity, reaching 268kW.

Plymouth Life Centre
Following a competitive tender, Plymouth Energy Community chose our team to install a 366 kWp solar PV system on the rooftop of the Plymouth Life Centre. They now utilise 100% of the electricity generated by their system to meet the needs of their 1 million+ annual visitors.

Interfish
Interfish’s first CleanEarth system did so well in its first two years, that they then extended the system twice to reach 941kW capacity. These installs navigated multiple roof pitches, vents, and some serious weather, but Interfish are now seeing over 133 tonnes of Scope 2 emissions reductions a year.

Thornbury Manufacturing
One of our most recent PMG projects, this project was made possible through effective roof repair work – showing that initial setbacks can be opportunities to future-proof your premises. By switching to a more renewable energy mix, they’ll be saving a cumulative £1.3M in energy costs.

Pandrol
Our latest PMG project, this installation for Pandrol is going to bring a new degree of sustainability to their operations in the rail industry. Their 90kW capacity system is going to generate an annual 84,500kWh of clean energy, and reduce their Scope 2 emissions by 374 tonnes across it’s lifetime.

P.E.G. Precision
Another PMG member, P.E.G Precision, first installed solar in 2015 with 40kW capacity having benefitted from the feed in tariff. They then recently expanded the system with a further 15kWp following funding from Devon County Council grants. This enabled P.E.G Precision to take their annual generation up to 54,300kWh, and reduce their Scope 2 emissions by 19 tonnes each year.

Secure Innovation
As a member of the PMG, Secure Innovation secured their 150kW system with the support of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme. The resulting solar system is reducing their scope 2 emissions by an annual 30 tonnes.
