Gordano Support Group have doubled down on their sustainable impact – we’ve just completed a brand-new solar PV extension at their Somerset facility.
Their first CleanEarth solar installation was a 102kWp capacity system comprised of 248 roof mounted panels – saving 20 tonnes of annual CO2e and £10,520 in energy cost savings in that first year. This installation was only commissioned in 2023, but impressed with the impact their system has already had in less than two years, they welcomed our team back for even more solar PV in 2024.
They signed on for an extension of 276 additional panels for an overall capacity of 222kWp, taking their annual generation from 89,000kWh right up to 198,000kWh. Gordano Support Group will see the impacts of that increased generation right on their energy bills, as their savings rise to over £33,000 a year and £455,000 in the system’s lifespan. This extension also takes their carbon savings impact up to 980 tonnes of lifetime CO2e reductions.
Working in the energy intensive industry of packaging (alongside logistics and design technology) Gordano Support Group understand the necessity of decarbonisation. Investing further with solar PV not only supports them against still high energy prices but takes their business operations that much closer to the decarbonisation goals of the packaging industry itself.
For CleanEarth, this project adds to our growing portfolio of 40,000 annual tonnes of carbon savings across both wind and solar installations. It also expands our work within the printing and wider manufacturing industry, as more businesses invest in solar and extensions for their premises.
